I have a question that I think I know the answer to, but would like confirmation from the DOORS admin community. I have created a project (including many folders and modules) using DOORS v9.3. I archived the project for import into the client's database. The client I did the work for is using DOORS v8.1, and when they tried restoring the project into their database, DOORS gives an error saying the modules were created with a later version. Is there any way to create the archived files in my v9.3 that will allow the v8.1 database to sucessfully restore it? |
Re: DOORS archives backward compatibility Although I do recall some post where some dude managed to defy the laws of gravity; bit banging the archive file adjusting its DNA to make it appear acceptable to the v81 database. There was no comment on what the beast looked like once restored. Looks like they need to create the project and the modules and send you a copy, and let you restore their regular updates.
